1. What do we know about hot deserts and how do people react to them? Candidates should be able to: - identify which areas are described as hot deserts and what features typically characterise hot desert environments; - appreciate the way hot desert environments have been depicted in a variety of media and the feelings they invoke, including their own reactions.
2. Where are hot deserts found? Candidates should be able to: - utilise skills of using and interpreting different kinds of source material; - locate hot deserts using maps and atlases and show an awareness of their global distribution.
